Warrior Caverns: Physical Edition Becoming a Reality!
Warrior Caverns: From Digital Release to a Boxed Cartridge!
What an incredible first week for Warrior Caverns!
After 40 years, Warrior Caverns finally launched on October 20, and I couldn't be happier with how things have gone. Sales of the digital edition have been strong, and the feedback from players has been exciting and encouraging. Seeing people actually purchasing and playing a game I first imagined in 1986 has been an amazing experience.
But this week brought another milestone that makes the whole journey feel even more real.
The instruction manuals for the physical cartridge edition have officially been ordered!

When I decided to complete Warrior Caverns, one of my goals was to preserve the feeling of playing games on an
I remember opening a new game box, pulling out the cartridge, and flipping through the instruction manual before playing. The artwork, the instructions, and even the packaging were all part of the excitement.
That's exactly the experience I want to recreate with Warrior Caverns.
The new full-color instruction manual features our official cover artwork, actual screenshots from the game, gameplay instructions, information about the weapons and enemies, and tips for exploring the six caverns. It's designed to look and feel like something that would have belonged on a store shelf alongside the classic Atari games of the 1980s.
And now, seeing the finished manual design and knowing that printed copies are on the way is a pretty special feeling.

The First 250 Cartridges
The physical edition is moving forward quickly!
We've ordered 250 Atari 8-bit cartridges, and the first production run will be a special numbered edition, with each box individually numbered from 001 to 250.
The boxed edition will include the game cartridge, a full-color instruction manual, and a personal letter from me explaining how Warrior Caverns began in 1986 and why I wanted to bring it to life four decades later.
We're currently finalizing the box artwork and packaging. My goal is to create a complete physical release that Atari collectors will be proud to have in their collections.
Thank You for an Amazing First Week
When I started this project, I really didn't have any expectations about sales. I simply wanted to finish something I started as a young programmer in 1986.
The fact that Warrior Caverns is now out in the world, people are playing it, and the response has been so positive is more than I could have hoped for.
I'm also excited that retro-gaming YouTube creators are preparing coverage of the game, which will help introduce Warrior Caverns to even more Atari enthusiasts.
There is still work to be done on the physical edition, but that's part of the fun. Every new milestone brings this 40-year journey a little closer to completion.
Thank you to everyone who has purchased Warrior Caverns, shared the trailer, offered encouragement, or simply followed along with its development.
A game imagined in 1986. Brought to life in 2026. And now, coming to a cartridge!
